Breaking Illusions

I chose to use the Medusa casting stickers for this week’s reading to add a bit of feminine rage during Women’s History month. I feel like we are all Medusa lately as we rise up with rage to reclaim our agency and the world.
I was talking to my mother, Gail Sawyer, before our weekly Early Riser’s Craft Coven hangout about how we were born into the cult of the patriarchy and it’s all we’ve ever known… generations just falling in line. It’s exhausting and time for it to go. I’ve noticed more and more content being shared in the digital spaces that point to the matriarchy rising and rippling out.
I truly feel that what we are witnessing on the world’s stage is the extinction burst of the patriarchy and the systems that subjugate and control. Bored rich people being afraid of being revealed for the monsters they truly are. This has always been a class war. Divided we fall… so that perhaps we can build a better future with the most vulnerable in the center— protected and guarded.
We need to be better, and do better.
Medusa shows us how to harden our gaze, to no longer be palatable in the eyes of would be predators. We refuse to smile, we refuse to be passive or submissive.

Breaking through illusions
This week we will see through any illusions that are being presented to us. As each bubble bursts the false fronts drip away. Focus on what is real and what remains.
What keeps us protected during such tumultuous times is being on top of our emotions—being able to discern when things feel a bit too much. Some talk therapy may be in order to help make sense of any and all distractions. Stay focused, turn your back if necessary, keep boundaries intact.
Our ability to endure and persevere is our super power as a species. We know that what feels like pressure, what is meant to make us crack and shatter is what actually strengthens us. It’s the source of our adaptability.
The magnetism of this divide has been used by those who grab for power… meant to grind us down. Yet, we know that when we work together we can close the gap. With each bursting bubble in the rays of that sun, we see what needs to be done.
We are able to see beyond the eclipses, scrying into the void we know our true potential and are sowing the seeds of a new cycle. A new phase, one where we all of us are free.
